Frequently Asked Questions about Privacy and Security
How we protect your data
Budget Nest uses industry-standard encryption to protect your financial data. All data is stored locally on your device by default, giving you complete control. If you enable cloud sync, data is encrypted before transmission and stored securely. We never share your data with third parties, and you can delete your data at any time.
Privacy policy explained
Budget Nest is committed to your privacy. We collect minimal data necessary for app functionality. Financial information stays on your device unless you choose to sync. We don't track your spending habits for advertising. Your data is yours, and you have full control over it. Read our full privacy policy in the app settings for complete details.
Account security tips
Use a strong, unique password for your Budget Nest account. Enable two-factor authentication if available. Keep your app updated to the latest version for security patches. Don't share your login credentials. Be cautious when using public Wi-Fi. Regularly review your transactions for any unauthorized activity. Enable device lock screen protection.
Local vs cloud storage
By default, Budget Nest stores all data locally on your device for maximum privacy. This means your financial information never leaves your device. If you enable cloud sync, your encrypted data is backed up to secure servers, allowing access across devices. You can choose to use local-only storage or enable sync based on your privacy preferences.
Data deletion and export
You have full control over your data. Export your data anytime from Settings to create a backup. To delete your account and all associated data, go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Your data will be completely removed from our servers if you were using cloud sync.
